LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mary Bardeen Wilson upon the occa-
sion of celebrating her 100th Birthday

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate and
recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great Nation
and Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Mary Bardeen Wilson upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th
Birthday; and
WHEREAS, Mary was born on May 27, 1916, to Ray and Lena Bardeen in
Hornell, New York; she graduated from Hornell High School in 1932, and
Alfred University, Class of 1936; and
WHEREAS, In her early years, Mary Bardeen Wilson worked as a math
teacher and then earned her School Librarian Certification; she worked
for many years as the School Librarian at Canaseraga Central School,
until retiring in 1980; and
WHEREAS, Mary Bardeen married Gordon P. Wilson and together they were
the loving parents of three children, Gordon "Don", Robert and Linda;
today, Mary is the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren, Robert,
Bryan, Jeffrey, Daniel, Elizabeth, Jeanne, Paul and Kelly; and
WHEREAS, Mary Bardeen Wilson enjoys gardening, reading and spending
time with her family; she especially likes writing letters and cards to
her sister in Florida; and
WHEREAS, Mary Bardeen Wilson encompasses all the qualities that make
up a great role model and citizen; she sets an example for her family
and friends that freedom has responsibilities and you should never take
those responsibilities lightly; and
WHEREAS, Mary Bardeen Wilson believes in stepping up to the plate and
serving your community, as well as always being knowledgeable and exer-
cising your right to vote; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and honor the lives of beloved citizens who have reached a remark-
able age and who have witnessed and celebrated the outstanding inno-
vations, cultural developments, and awesome achievements of this country
during the last century; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mary Bardeen Wilson upon the occasion of celebrating her
100th Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mary Bardeen Wilson.
