LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Mohawk Valley EDGE upon the occasion
of hosting its 15th Annual Leading EDGE Awards Luncheon, and paying
tribute to this year's honorees on May 17, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business
organizations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Mohawk Valley EDGE upon the occasion of hosting its 15th Annual Leading
EDGE Awards Luncheon, and paying tribute to this year's honorees to be
celebrated on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at The State University of New York
Polytechnic Institute Fieldhouse, Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, A private, not-for-profit corporation, Mohawk Valley EDGE
(Economic Development Growth Enterprises Corporation) is an integral
part of the long-term effort by the public and private sectors to
strengthen opportunities and open the door for new businesses and indus-
tries to locate and grow within Oneida and Herkimer Counties in New York
State; and
WHEREAS, This year's Leading EDGE Awards are being presented to Mohawk
Valley businesses which are helping to expand the region's economy
through investment and job growth, and to individuals who are steadfast
leaders in their respective industries and contribute to the superb
quality of life in the region; and
WHEREAS, On the forefront of innovation, growth and sustainability,
the local companies receiving Leading EDGE Awards include Heidelberg
Baking Company, Kris-Tech Wire, Landmarc Building, Munson-Williams-Proc-
tor Arts Institute and Precisionmatics; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Dr. Todd Hutton is being recognized during Tues-
day's noon program at SUNY Poly, as well as Ronald Cuccaro, who is the
recipient of the Christopher Destito Leading EDGE Award; this honor is
given to someone who has had a lifelong commitment to the betterment of
the Mohawk Valley; and
WHEREAS, The Keynote Speaker will be Kirk S. Laney, Chief Strategist
and former CEO of ams AG, an Austrian company locating a new 360,000
soft fab at the Nano Utica site in Marcy, New York; and
WHEREAS, The State of New York is pleased to join the Mohawk Valley
EDGE in extending sincere appreciation to these honorees for their valu-
able contributions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Mohawk Valley EDGE upon the occasion of hosting its 15th Annual
Leading EDGE Awards, and paying tribute to this year's honorees; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to each of the recipients of the Mohawk Valley EDGE 2016 Leading
EDGE Awards.
