LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Holy Trinity High School
Select Choir upon the occasion of capturing the Golden Mickey Award for
Specialty Choirs at the Festival Disney Music Competition on March 31,
2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the dedi-
cation and commitment of our young people who distinguish themselves
through excellence in musical competition; and
WHEREAS, Music competition provides an opportunity for students to
exhibit their practical skills to an audience, thereby giving them a
sense of pride in their hard work and efforts; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Holy Trinity High School Select Choir upon the occasion of
capturing the Golden Mickey Award for Specialty Choirs at the Festival
Disney Music Competition held on Thursday, March 31, 2016, in Orlando,
Florida; and
WHEREAS, Festival Disney is an all-Disney produced music festival
which provides middle and high school vocal and instrumental ensembles
the opportunity to compete against some of the best musical teams from
across the country; and
WHEREAS, The Holy Trinity High School Select Choir is a small ensemble
composed of 19 members which meets once a week to practice singing for
three hours; they compete at Festival Disney every other year, and have
previously won second place in the competition; and
WHEREAS, In 2016, the Holy Trinity High School Select Choir captured
the Golden Mickey with a spectacular performance in the Specialty Choir
Category which included Show Choirs, Madrigals, Jazz Choirs and Gospel
Choirs; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed musical ensemble achieved the
second highest score amongst all choirs, as well as all 67 performing
groups who competed; and
WHEREAS, Ann-Marie Hoher, Director of the Holy Trinity High School
Select Choir, has truly distinguished herself through her ability to
inspire these students to achieve excellence in musical performance; and
WHEREAS, In achieving this high musical honor, the Holy Trinity High
School Select Choir may take just pride in the inspiration and contrib-
ution to the spirit of excellence they bring to their family, friends,
community and school; and
WHEREAS, Musical competition is most worthy of being encouraged and
promoted, as it provides an opportunity for students to exhibit their
skills to an audience, thereby giving them abilities and self-esteem to
last a lifetime; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Holy Trinity High School Select Choir; its members:
Maddie Corwin, Marissa Feminella, Olivia D'Achille, Alyssa Lopez, Made-
line O'Reilly, Fiona Castro, Jackie Clifford, Abigail Sheusi, Jessica
Janssen, Ashley Roes, Brandon Dubuisson, Greg Milano, Jackson Gormley,
Justin Hugues, Maurice Jerry, Remy Church, Joe Castro, Mike Artuso and
Matt Tomitz; and Director Ann-Marie Hoher, on capturing the Golden Mick-
ey Award for Specialty Choirs at the Festival Disney Music Competition;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the members of the Holy Trinity High School Select Choir, and
Director Ann-Marie Hoher.
