LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jesse Towey upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jesse Towey upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a Young
Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Jesse Towey was selected for this esteemed honor in recogni-
tion of his hard work, ambition, and creativity, as well as for his
profound impact in and around the community of Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, The current Music Coordinator at New Hope Community in Loch
Sheldrake, Jesse Towey has a true love for music and a passion for shar-
ing it with others; above all, he enjoys the satisfaction of witnessing
how music can inspire such joy and excitement in the individuals he
supports, putting smiles on their faces and encouraging them to dance;
and
WHEREAS, Originally born and raised in Washington Heights and a high
school graduate of Beacon High School, Jesse Towey was inspired from a
young age by his family, all of whom have worked closely with individ-
uals in education and occupational therapy; and
WHEREAS, Jesse Towey's enthusiasm for music brought him upstate to
SUNY New Paltz, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Jazz Studies; and
WHEREAS, Now implementing his degree at New Hope Community, Jesse
Towey plans and facilitates musical activities for day programs, while
also creating monthly leisure activities and events for the individuals
supported by this vital organization; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Jesse Towey works closely with the supportive
team of the Leisure Department to create innovative programs and encour-
age interdisciplinary activities in a community setting; he also
performed with New Hope's original band, Bright Woods, at its 40th Anni-
versary celebration; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jesse Towey upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jesse Towey.
