LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Shannon "Birdie" Feeney upon the occa-
sion of her designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by
the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Shannon "Birdie" Feeney upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Shannon "Birdie" Feeney is the Director of Marketing and
Advertising at Roscoe Beer Co. in Roscoe, New York; she returned to her
hometown to start her profession and family life; and
WHEREAS, Birdie Feeney, daughter of Jim and Cheryl Bowers, is a Class
of 2004 graduate of Roscoe Central School; she and her parents always
enjoyed the game of golf, and the three were instrumental in establish-
ing the first ladies' golf league in Sullivan County back in 2003; both
of her parents were golf coaches for the Roscoe Central School and led
the school to several winning seasons before retiring; and
WHEREAS, They have been a golfing family their entire lives and that
is how she got her nickname "Birdie"; and
WHEREAS, Birdie Feeney continued her education and attended State
University of New York at Oneonta where she earned a bachelor's degree
in Business and Marketing in 2008; and
WHEREAS, After college, Birdie Feeney moved back to Roscoe, New York,
where she and her husband soon purchased their first home and started
their family; they are the proud parents of two boys, Carter and Hunter;
and
WHEREAS, Birdie Feeney signed on as Golf and Events Coordinator/Pro
Shop Manager at Tennanah Lake Golf & Tennis Club; then, in the summer of
2013, at the age of 27, she found her calling at Roscoe Beer Co.; and
WHEREAS, As the Director of Marketing she wears many hats, coordinates
social media marketing, marketing communication and strategy, advertis-
ing, and event management to name a few of her responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Birdie Feeney serves as a member of the Board of
Directors for the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce; she enjoys work-
ing with the local community in her chosen field and loves that she gets
to meet new people each and every day; and
WHEREAS, Birdie Feeney's favorite memory of growing up in Roscoe is
that everyone knows each other and, as community members, they all stick
together and support their town; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Shannon "Birdie" Feeney upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Shannon "Birdie" Feeney.
