LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring George W. Kinne, Jr. upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
George W. Kinne, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, George W. Kinne, Jr. was selected for this esteemed honor in
recognition of his hard work, ambition, and creativity, as well as for
his profound impact in and around the community of Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, An avid fisherman and a lover of hiking, George W. Kinne, Jr.
is a man of many interests as well as an active member of the community;
and
WHEREAS, George W. Kinne, Jr. has served on the Board of the Sullivan
County Partnership for Economic Development for 10 years, while also
serving on the Board of the Sullivan County Community College Foundation
and the Board of Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed man is the President and Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) at Jeff Bank, Sullivan County's largest communi-
ty bank, with a 34% market share and 12 branches; and
WHEREAS, George W. Kinne, Jr. was raised in Roscoe, New York, where
his parents owned and operated the Roscoe Motel located near the legend-
ary Junction Pool; as an only child, he spent much of his time at the
motel, helping his parents and learning the trade of the business, which
in turn inspired his career path in finance; and
WHEREAS, A finance graduate of Ithaca College, George W. Kinne, Jr.
began his illustrious career shortly after graduation with Nations Bank
in Charlotte, North Carolina, before it merged with Bank of America; and
WHEREAS, Continually climbing the corporate ladder, George W. Kinne,
Jr., then a Vice President with Bank of America, left his position in
March of 2006, to make the move with his wife back to Sullivan County;
and
WHEREAS, With a multitude of experience under his belt, George W.
Kinne, Jr. quickly moved up through the ranks with Jeff Bank, beginning
as Vice President/Commercial Lender to Senior Vice President/Senior Loan
Officer, Executive Vice President, and now President and CEO; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, and their two chil-
dren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice
in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor George W. Kinne, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to George W. Kinne, Jr.
