LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sara LaFleur upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sara
LaFleur upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a Young
Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Sara LaFleur attended Sullivan West Central School in Lake
Huntington, New York, before moving with her family to Massachusetts;
she attended UMass Dartmouth and discovered a love of Nursing after
taking care of her ailing grandmother; and
WHEREAS, Following graduation, Sara LaFleur became a Registered Nurse
in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Catskill Regional Medical
Center in Harris, New York, where she has enjoyed caring for patients
and teaching the new nurses who come to her unit; and
WHEREAS, As part of her many important duties, this esteemed medical
professional oversees the airway management and oxygen administration of
patients, while monitoring their vital signs in such areas as heart
rate, blood pressure, temperature and respiratory rate; she also manages
post-operative pain, and treats symptoms such as nausea or vomiting; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, Sara LaFleur prepares patients for release and
educates them on what to expect as they leave the hospital and resume
their normal lives; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Sara LaFleur has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Sara LaFleur has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sara LaFleur upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sara LaFleur.
