LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Giovanni Lentini upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Giovanni Lentini upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Born in Sicily, Italy, Giovanni Lentini has always had his
hands in the family restaurant business, making delicious Italian
cuisine; his parents moved to the United States in 1987, living in
Brooklyn for quite a few years before eventually relocating to Monticel-
lo in Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, In 1991, when young Giovanni Lentini was about eight years
old, Brother Bruno Pizza Restaurant in Monticello was born; at the age
of 15, he began taking more initiative in the family business and his
role exponentially grew from that point on; today, Giovanni is now
running the show; and
WHEREAS, In addition to running the restaurant, Giovanni Lentini has
now started bottling marinara sauce, called Lentini's Marinara, with
brother Giuseppe "Joe" Lentini of Peppino's Restaurant in Callicoon; and
WHEREAS, The Lentini brothers began bottling about a year and a half
ago in response to customers frequently asking to buy a jar, a liter, or
a gallon of the famous sauce, the same famous sauce recipe used on
pizzas and pastas at both Brother Bruno's and Peppino's; and
WHEREAS, Giovanni Lentini also runs Green Express Recycling Corp. with
the help of his brother Giuseppe and a few others; now in their third
year of business, they are working hard to bring better recycling to
Monticello and beyond, utilizing lifetime friendships with local truck-
ers and fellow business owners; furthermore, he is now starting up his
own insulation company; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Giovanni Lentini upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Giovanni Lentini.
