LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Principal Kimberly Patterson upon the
occasion of her retirement after 33 years of distinguished service as an
educator

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State; and
WHEREAS, The result of many individual efforts, the excellence and the
success of the Monticello School District is due in large part to the
efforts of Principal Kimberly Patterson; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Principal
Kimberly Patterson upon the occasion of her retirement after 33 years of
distinguished service as an educator; she officially retired on May 2,
2016; and
WHEREAS, Kimberly Patterson began her illustrious career with the
Monticello School District in 1983, when she joined the staff at Ruther-
ford Elementary as a teacher; she later became an administrative intern
before becoming principal in 1994; and
WHEREAS, Since then, Kimberly Patterson has truly become an icon at
Rutherford Elementary, leading the school through many enriching academ-
ic and extracurricular improvements; and
WHEREAS, Three generations of students have thrived under Kimberly
Patterson's leadership, and she has formed countless treasured relation-
ships with the students, parents and teachers within the Monticello
School District; and
WHEREAS, For 33 years, Kimberly Patterson served with loyalty, honor
and distinction, earning her the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Kimberly Patterson's leadership and drive have always served
as an inspiration to those lucky enough to have worked with her; the
passion and ingenuity she has shown during her tenure is remarkable, and
she will truly be missed; and
WHEREAS, In completing her service as Principal, Kimberly Patterson
leaves behind more than mere bricks and mortar; she leaves behind a
legacy to the residents of the Monticello community and to future gener-
ations of its students; and
WHEREAS, In a career which spanned more than three decades, Kimberly
Patterson has continually demonstrated an impressive dedication, an
unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for the quality of
the educational programs and opportunities offered throughout Sullivan
County for the benefit of its faculty and students, as well as for the
entire community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Principal Kimberly Patterson upon the occasion of her retirement
after 33 years of distinguished service as an educator; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Principal Kimberly Patterson.
