LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Samuel
Cimino VFW Post 6472

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and commem-
orate the proud and distinguished histories of organizations which
comprise the noble body of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 70th Anniversary of the Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472; and
WHEREAS, This historic not-for-profit's mission stands for assisting
our veterans and promoting policies that rightfully honor the service
and sacrifice made by our Nation's heroes; and
WHEREAS, VFW Post 6472 was chartered on April 14, 1946, and named
after Samuel Cimino, a veteran of the United States Navy who was lost at
sea in 1943; and
WHEREAS, The officers and members of VFW Post 6472 demonstrate a
strong commitment and outstanding dedication to our community; and
WHEREAS, The freedoms and security we cherish as Americans comes at a
very high price for those who have served in the United States Military;
it is fitting and proper that we who are the beneficiaries remember
those who have dedicated their lives to the cause of freedom; we express
our appreciation and eternal gratitude for their sacrifices and coura-
geous acts; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and honor milestones in the history of communities large and small
in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472, at
the 150th Anniversary of the initial Memorial Day Commemoration for the
Village of Silver Creek, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Richard Henry, Commander, Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472.
