LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Maria Sosiak upon the occasion of
being inducted into the State University of New York at Oneonta's Edward
K. Griesmer Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary on April
10, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Maria Sosiak has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Maria Sosiak
upon the occasion of being inducted into the State University of New
York at Oneonta's Edward K. Griesmer Chapter of the National Residence
Hall Honorary which was celebrated on Sunday, April 10, 2016; and
WHEREAS, National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), a branch of the
National Association of Colleges and University Residence Halls, recog-
nizes students who have made outstanding contributions to the residence
hall community, and is composed of the top one percent of student lead-
ers on campus; and
WHEREAS, In order to become a member of the NRHH, students must be
nominated by an Office of Residential Community Life staff member and go
through an application and interview, before being selected for
induction through a blind process; and
WHEREAS, Maria Sosiak of Loudonville, New York, has been called upon
to contribute her time and talents to countless worthy endeavors on
campus and has always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Maria Sosiak has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when excep-
tional individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to
our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citi-
zens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Maria Sosiak upon the occasion of being inducted into the State
University of New York at Oneonta's Edward K. Griesmer Chapter of the
National Residence Hall Honorary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Maria Sosiak.
