LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending outgoing President Jim Fregelette upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the New York
State Association of School Business Officials
WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled; its
history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its educa-
tional professionals and the students they inspire; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those outstanding
educational leaders, whose dedication and achievements have been instru-
mental in developing character and academic excellence in the young
people of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
outgoing President Jim Fregelette upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition by the New York State Association of School
Business Officials; and
WHEREAS, Jim Fregelette earned both his Bachelor's degree in Chemical
Engineering and a Master's degree in Education from the University of
Buffalo; he also completed a Certificate in Advance Studies in Educa-
tional Administration from Buffalo State College; and
WHEREAS, For the past 25 years, Jim Fregelette has been an integral
part of Erie 1 BOCES where he has worked in the Finance Legislation and
Policy Services assisting school business officials and superintendents
with state aid and legislation issues; and
WHEREAS, Currently, this esteemed educational leader serves as Execu-
tive Director of Finance and Information Systems at Erie 1 BOCES, a
position he has ably held for the past 11 years; he is also a member on
the BOCES Business Officials Steering Committee and the Western New York
Chapter; and
WHEREAS, Prior to being elected to the Board of Directors for New York
State Association of School Business Officials (ASBO), Jim Fregelette
was Chair of the Membership Committee where he had served as a member
for eight years; and
WHEREAS, As President of the Board of Directors for the New York State
Association of School Business Officials (NYSASBO), Jim Fregelette
rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service to his organiza-
tion; and
WHEREAS, During his illustrious tenure, President Jim Fregelette was
governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of
human problems; earned the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our schools;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Jim Fregelette for his distinguished service as President of the
New York State Association of School Business Officials during the
2015-2016 school year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jim Fregelette.
