LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Teresa A. Dearing for 40 years of
distinguished service as Director of the Dansville Public Library

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate and
recognize certain milestones celebrated in the distinguished careers of
the men and women of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, this Legislative Body is justly
proud to honor Teresa A. Dearing for 40 years of distinguished service
as Director of the Dansville Public Library; and
WHEREAS, Teresa Dearing joined the Dansville Public Library in 1976 as
Director, and has advanced its mission in an outstanding fashion through
assisting the community with their educational, cultural and recreation-
al resources; and
WHEREAS, Teresa Dearing's greatest accomplishment is the Saunders
Family Library, an addition to the Shepard Building, which was a 10 year
endeavor reached under Teresa's leadership and vision; and
WHEREAS, Teresa Dearing is a member of the Dansville Rotary Club,
serving as Secretary and also Secretary of the Dansville Economic Devel-
opment Corporation; and
WHEREAS, The Dansville Public Library serves 10,419 people from Dans-
ville and the surrounding nine towns and villages; and
WHEREAS, Teresa Dearing's commitment to the Dansville Public Library
is extremely honorable and 40 years is a tremendous milestone to reach;
and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and honor the lives of beloved men and women who have made signif-
icant contributions to the citizens and communities in this great Empire
State; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Teresa A. Dearing for 40 years of distinguished service as Direc-
tor of the Dansville Public Library; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted Ms. Teresa A. Dearing.
