LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Josh Altman upon the occasion of
his induction into the New York Convenience Store Hall of Fame on May
12, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Josh Altman upon the occasion of his induction into the New York
Convenience Store Hall of Fame, to be celebrated at the New York Associ-
ation of Convenience Stores' Annual Chairman's Banquet on Thursday, May
12, 2016, in Syracuse, New York; and
WHEREAS, Headquartered in Albany, New York, the New York Association
of Convenience Stores (NYACS) is a private, not-for-profit member organ-
ization which for 30 years, has led, safeguarded and forged a favorable
environment for New York State's diverse community of neighborhood
convenience stores; and
WHEREAS, Josh Altman, Vice President of Mountain/Service Distributors,
has been elected to the New York Convenience Store Hall of Fame for his
exceptional leadership and achievement in the convenience store indus-
try; and
WHEREAS, Josh Altman is the third generation owner/operator of
Mountain/Service Distributors, a broad-line convenience products
distributor located in South Fallsburg, New York; the successful company
services approximately 1,000 retail locations in New York, Pennsylvania,
New Jersey and Connecticut; and
WHEREAS, In 1992, Josh Altman joined the company full-time as a sales
representative; through the years, he has assumed increasing responsi-
bilities; in 2014, NYACS named the Altman family one of New York's Fore-
most Convenience Store Families; and
WHEREAS, In 2006, Josh Altman was elected to the NYACS Associate Board
of Directors, and at his first meeting, volunteered to serve as Secre-
tary; from 2008-2009, he held the position of Chairman of the Board; and
WHEREAS, For the last eight years, Josh Altman has been a vital member
of the Convenience Distribution Association Board of Directors; in addi-
tion, he is a participant and Chairman of Peer Marketing Associates; and
WHEREAS, With his business leadership abilities and his evident dedi-
cation to his community, Josh Altman is the quintessential selection for
the prestigious New York Convenience Store Hall of Fame; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Josh Altman upon the occasion of his induction into the New
York Convenience Store Hall of Fame on May 12, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Josh Altman.
