LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brogan Dineen upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a New York State Senate Youth Leadership
Recognition Award

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to act, in accordance
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Brogan Dineen upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a New
York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Award; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Senate's Youth Leadership Recognition
Awards program is designed to recognize the outstanding young students
who will become New York State's future leaders; this initiative is
designed to highlight and congratulate well-rounded students who excel
academically and have exhibited leadership through extracurricular or
volunteer activities; and
WHEREAS, Nominated by a faculty member, Brogan Dineen is a Junior at
Warwick Valley High School; this outstanding young woman submitted a
short essay describing her accomplishment of being elected Junior Class
President, and how leadership can affect school and community; and
WHEREAS, As Junior Class President, Brogan Dineen, fosters leadership
qualities by inspiring, motivating and assisting peers, and truly caring
about them and their endeavors; she serves as a member of the school-
wide Student Senate and organizes fundraisers which help the school or a
local charity; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the well-being of her community, Brogan Dineen
volunteers her time and energy to various community outreach and service
projects including clothing, food and blood drives; and
WHEREAS, In January of 2016, Brogan Dineen attended a Leadership Expe-
rience and Development (LEAD) Conference in Washington, D.C. where she
participated in various activities and seminars to help sharpen her
leadership skills and network with other students from across the coun-
try; and
WHEREAS, Brogan Dineen is a credit to her family, school, community,
and her State and Nation, and it is certain that her future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers, coaches and
parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brogan Dineen upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Award; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brogan Dineen.
