LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Brad Bihler upon the occasion of
capturing the New York State Public High School Athletic Association,
Section VI, Division 2 Wrestling Championship

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor outstanding young people who demonstrate the qualities that lead
to success in athletics, academics and life in this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize those
young people within our community who, by achieving outstanding success
in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to their
school district and community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Brad Bihler upon the occasion of capturing the New York State
Public High School Athletic Association, Section VI, Division 2 Wrestl-
ing Championship; and
WHEREAS, This was truly an outstanding season for Brad Bihler and one
that will go down in the record books for all time; he compiled a record
of 46-2, and now holds the distinction of being one of the top wrestlers
in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Brad Bihler, a senior at Maple Grove Junior/Senior High
School, claimed several individual titles this season, elevating him to
an even higher level and qualifying him for the State tournament in
Albany, New York; he flawlessly made his way through his opponents,
before squaring off in the finals and successfully defeating Tanner
Cook; and
WHEREAS, Brad Bihler ends his high school wrestling career as a State
champion and truly at the top of his game; he became the Maple Grove
career wins leader in 2016 and finished with 193 victories; these accom-
plishments have earned him the title of 2015-16 POST JOURNAL Co-Wrestler
of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved through strenuous practice and team spirit, nurtured by dedi-
cated coaching and strategic planning; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those high school athlete-scholars who have achieved notable
success in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Brad Bihler for his perseverance and dedication in aspiring
for success in his high school wrestling career, and for capturing the
New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Section VI,
Division 2 Wrestling Championship; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brad Bihler.
