LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Leanna Giaquinto upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the
Merrick Association of Girl Scouts on June 1, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Leanna Giaquinto has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Leanna
Giaquinto upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Life-
time Achievement Award by the Merrick Association of Girl Scouts, to be
celebrated at an Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the
Merrick Golf Course, Merrick, New York; and
WHEREAS, Leanna Giaquinto has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, For the past 26 years, Leanna Giaquinto has donated 5,568
hours of service to Merrick Association of Girl Scouts Troop 2274; as
Girl Scout Leader, she was a member of the Service Team for many years;
and
WHEREAS, In addition to her work with the Girl Scouts, Leanna Giaquin-
to has been an instrumental part of her community in many capacities,
such as Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher, and VBE Coordinator; she
has also assisted with various events and classroom activities at the
local elementary school; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Leanna Giaquinto holds the title of co-President
of the Community WELCA women's group and was a member of the Cleft
Palate Parent's Council, where she supported families of children born
with cleft palates; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Leanna Giaquinto has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Leanna Giaquinto has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Leanna Giaquinto upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Merrick Association of Girl
Scouts on June 1, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Leanna Giaquinto.
