LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dienamarie Giaquinto upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the Adult Presidential Bronze Service
Award by the Merrick Association of Girl Scouts

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dienamarie Giaquinto upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Adult Presidential Bronze Service Award by the Merrick Associ-
ation of Girl Scouts, to be celebrated at an Awards Ceremony on Wednes-
day, June 1, 2016, at the Merrick Golf Course, Merrick, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dienamarie Giaquinto has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the past few years, Dienamarie Giaquinto has
donated 146.5 hours of service to Merrick Association of Girl Scouts
Troop 2274; as Troop Leader and Girl Scout Gold Award Mentor, she has
enjoyed helping children reach their full potential by guiding them on
their journey to successful futures; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her work with the Girl Scouts, Dienamarie
Giaquinto serves as the Scholarship Advisor for her sorority, Sigma
Sigma Sigma at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, where she advises
the officers and women of the chapter as they lead the sisterhood, truly
making a difference in the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, Dienamarie Giaquinto also gives of her time and energy to
such extra-curricular school activities as the Homecoming Committee and
the All County Art Exhibit; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dienamarie Giaquinto has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and volunteer
efforts, Dienamarie Giaquinto's ongoing endeavors have significantly
contributed to bettering the quality of life in her community; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dienamarie Giaquinto upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Adult Presidential Bronze Service Award by the Merrick
Association of Girl Scouts; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dienamarie Giaquinto.
