LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Herkimer
County HealthNet, and paying tribute to this year's award honorees on
March 6, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality of life in the communities across this great State of New York
is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
organizations and individuals whose singular purpose is the health and
well-being of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Herkimer County HealthNet, and to
pay tribute to the Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play in
Herkimer County Awards honorees, to be celebrated at its Creating Heal-
thy Places Luncheon on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Francesca's Banquets
and Catering, Ilion, New York; and
WHEREAS, Herkimer County HealthNet is a non-profit organization which
works with medical professionals, municipalities, businesses, and others
to make its community a healthier place for all; and
WHEREAS, The Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play in Herkim-
er County Awards recognizes community-minded individuals, munici-
palities, and organizations for their efforts to improve playgrounds,
trails, and other public spaces for exercise, as well as those whose
efforts have created environments which promote healthy food; and
WHEREAS, The year's honorees for the Complete Streets Section include:
the City of Little Falls, Main Street First, the Town of Webb, the
Village of Cold Brook, the Village of Dolgeville, the Village of Herkim-
er, and the Village of Middleville; and
WHEREAS, Additional awards are being presented to the Dolgeville-Sal-
isbury Greenway Trail, the Harmon Playground, the Robert Woodruff Nature
Trail, and the TOBIE Trail; furthermore, the New York State Department
of Environmental Conservation (Scott Healey) is being honored in the
Herkimer County Trail Guide Section; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Herkimer County HealthNet, and to
pay tribute to this year's award honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Herkimer County HealthNet, and the aforementioned honorees.
