LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jared Hunter upon the occasion of
receiving the Black and Latino Achievers Award by the Capital District
YMCA on June 7, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the Empire State who have made
strong contributions to their communities and who inspire others through
their model citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jared Hunter upon the occasion of receiving the Black and Latino Achiev-
ers Award by the Capital District YMCA to be celebrated at its 13th
Annual Awards Banquet on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Albany Marriott;
and
WHEREAS, Recipients of this prestigious award are being recognized for
their dedicated community involvement as well as volunteering their time
and energies to the Capital District YMCA; and
WHEREAS, Jared Hunter, Albany-GWU, has given not only time and ener-
gies but also competence, intelligence and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jared Hunter upon the occasion of receiving the Black and Latino
Achievers Award by the Capital District YMCA on June 7, 2016; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jared Hunter.
