LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kelly Lynch-Moloney upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award by
The Board of Trustees of the Moffat Library of Washingtonville, on June
9, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to call attention
to the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of
New York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kelly Lynch-Moloney upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award by The Board of Trustees of the
Moffat Library of Washingtonville, to be celebrated on June 9, 2016, at
the Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast, Connemara House in Salisbury
Mills, New York; and
WHEREAS, Kelly Lynch-Moloney is being recognized for her outstanding
volunteer work with the Friends of Moffat Library and towards the "Get
Out The Vote Campaign" for the historic Restore, Renew, Reimagine Moffat
Library building project referendum vote; and
WHEREAS, A resident of the Town of Blooming Grove, New York, Kelly
Lynch-Moloney took time away from her family to attend training sessions
to learn the phone calling system, enter voter information into a data-
base and put together voting lists; she worked tirelessly to mobilize
and train a core of volunteers on how to use the system and how to make
the phone calls, and organized phone call banking nights to call voters
in support of the library referendum; and
WHEREAS, Kelly Lynch-Moloney's activities helped to inform the commu-
nity about the library building project and helped to encourage people
to vote for the bond issue; they were pivotal to the success of the
vote; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Kelly Lynch-Moloney has been an active member of
the Friends of Moffat Library for many years, and most recently has been
serving on the Friends Board of Directors as the Publicity Chair; and
WHEREAS, In 1993, Kelly Lynch-Moloney received her Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Management from the State University of New York at
Plattsburgh, and in 1999, she earned a Masters of Business Adminis-
tration in Finance degree from Pace University; and
WHEREAS, With 20 years in the investment industry, Kelly Lynch-Moloney
currently works as a portfolio manager at Hudson Valley Investment Advi-
sors in Goshen, New York; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Sean, and their
son, Liam, all of whom feel privileged to be part of her life and
rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, volunteerism promotes family and community soli-
darity; most importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and
charitable endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Kelly Lynch-Moloney has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kelly Lynch-Moloney upon the occasion of her designation as recip-
ient of the 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award by The Board of Trustees of
the Moffat Library of Washingtonville, on June 9, 2016; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kelly Lynch-Moloney.
