LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Thomas A. Comanzo upon the occasion of
his retirement after 40 years of distinguished service to the State of
New York
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Thomas Anthony Comanzo upon the occasion of his retirement after 40
years of distinguished service to the State of New York to be celebrated
at a Luncheon held in his honor at Amo La Bella, Albany, New York, on
Tuesday, May 31, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Born in Schenectady, New York, and educated in the Schenecta-
dy public schools, Thomas A. Comanzo graduated from Siena College; and
WHEREAS, Thomas A. Comanzo began his illustrious service with the
State of New York on July 15, 1976; he worked for the Department of
Health; Bureau of Ambulatory Care; Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
program; The Attorney General's Office in the Administration Bureau as a
telecommunications representative; and most recently at the Procurement
Services Group in Albany as a telecommunications analyst at the Office
of General Services (OGS); and
WHEREAS, A dedicated member of his community, Thomas A. Comanzo has
served as Co-Chair of the Capital District Labor Religion Coalition, and
is a former Chair of the Regional Food Bank Holiday Hunger Appeal; and
WHEREAS, For the past 40 years, Thomas A. Comanzo rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Thomas A. Comanzo served with loyalty, honor and distinction,
and was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique
grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Susan, and their one
daughter, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thomas A. Comanzo upon the occasion of his retirement after 40
years of distinguished service to the State of New York; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas A. Comanzo.
