LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tyler Elizabeth Conzone upon the occa-
sion of her designation as recipient of the 2016 Italian American
Athletic Scholarship

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Tyler Elizabeth Conzone upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of the 2016 Italian American Athletic Scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Tyler Elizabeth Conzone has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent,
and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Elizabeth Conzone maintains a 95.5 GPA and a 99.48
weighted GPA while taking both Advanced Placement and college level
courses; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her distinguished high school career, Tyler Eliza-
beth Conzone has immersed herself in her school activities and community
volunteering, while excelling in academics and serving as a member of
the Student Council; she is also Sports Editor for THE CURRENT, the
school newspaper; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Elizabeth Conzone also serves as Secretary of the
National Honor Society and is a member of the Model United Nations, an
organization of students from around the country and internationally who
meet to debate various international laws; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed young woman is on the Safe Driving
Committee which oversees an awareness campaign regarding safe driving
issues such as drinking and driving; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Elizabeth Conzone is the recipient of numerous awards
and accolades, including the Student of Distinction Award, the Junior
Book Award, and the Italian Culture and the Heritage Month Award; she
was also inducted into the Italian Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, Actively engaged in her community from a very young age,
Tyler Elizabeth Conzone has worked as a camp counselor and score keeper
at the Recreation Center; she has also coached five- and six-year-olds
in soccer for the local American Youth Soccer Organization; and
WHEREAS, Tyler Elizabeth Conzone plans to attend SUNY Binghamton in
the fall, where she will major in Biology, and minor in secondary educa-
tion, with an emphasis on health and athletics; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Tyler Elizabeth
Conzone has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Tyler Elizabeth Conzone represents the best development of the potential
which is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers, coaches and
parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tyler Elizabeth Conzone upon the occasion of her designation as

recipient of the 2016 Italian American Athletic Scholarship; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tyler Elizabeth Conzone.
