LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jennifer Walowitz upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the New York State PTA Distinguished
Service Award

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Walowitz has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jennifer
Walowitz upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the New
York State PTA Distinguished Service Award; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Huth Road Parent Teacher Association (PTA) President Jennifer
Walowitz was recognized for her ability to bring adults together to
volunteer for the betterment of children's lives; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Walowitz's leadership has been instrumental in the
growth of the Huth Road PTA; her steadfast dedication has made Huth Road
a better place for all of its students; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her unwavering commitment to the PTA, Jennifer
Walowitz has chaired the award-winning Pick a Reading Partner (PARP)
program; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Walowitz has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jennifer Walowitz has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Jennifer Walowitz has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jennifer Walowitz upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of the New York State PTA Distinguished Service Award; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jennifer Walowitz.
