LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Michael and Angela Stephan upon the
occasion of their designation for special recognition by the Associa-
zione Culturale Pugliese Figli Maria S.S. Addolorata on June 18, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its citi-
zenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Michael and Angela Stephan upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the Associazione Culturale Pugliese Figli Maria
S.S. Addolorata, to be celebrated at its 9th Annual Gala on Saturday,
June 18, 2016, at Gargiulo's Restaurant, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, A man and woman of singular distinction, Michael and Angela
Stephan have continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary
intelligence, and diligent leadership in their unwavering service to
their community and profession and consequently have been selected for
this most prestigious honor; and
WHEREAS, Born to Luigi and Lucrezia Perrone in Brooklyn, New York,
Angela Stephan is a first generation American from a proud ancestry of
Mola di Bari, Puglia, Italy; and
WHEREAS, In 1988, Angela Stephan earned her Bachelor's degree in
Management from Baruch College, New York City; today, she works part-
time for a market research firm and loves to read, make crafts, and
travel; and
WHEREAS, Michael Stephan was born in 1967, to Geraldine and Lawrence
Stephan of Brooklyn; in 1985, he graduated from Franklin Delano Roose-
velt High School; and
WHEREAS, For over 20 years, Michael Stephan has held the position of
Global Head of Corporate Assets in a private investment firm; when he is
not working, he enjoys playing golf, travelling with his family, and
rooting for the Dallas Cowboys; and
WHEREAS, In September of 1985, Michael Stephan and Angela Perrone met,
and were married on June 17, 1989; in January of 1990, the couple moved
to Staten Island, New York, where they had their two children; and
WHEREAS, Despite their busy professional lives, Michael and Angela
Stephan have been called upon to contribute their time and talents to
the Associazione Culturale Pugliese Figli Maria S.S. Addolorata and have
always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Michael and Angela Stephan have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their two children, Michael
Louis and Leanna Nicole, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of
their lives and rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Michael and Angela Stephan have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Michael and Angela Stephan upon the occasion of their desig-
nation for special recognition by the Associazione Culturale Pugliese
Figli Maria S.S. Addolorata on June 18, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael and Angela Stephan.
