LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kelly Anderson upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Community Service Award by the WNY Peri-
natal Bereavement Organization on May 6, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Kelly Anderson has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kelly Anderson
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Community
Service Award by the WNY Perinatal Bereavement Organization celebrated
at its Elegant Evening to Remember Gala on Friday, May 6, 2016, at
Salvatore's Italian Gardens, Depew, New York; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Mt. Mercy High School in Buffalo, New York,
Kelly Anderson earned her bachelor's degree from the State University of
New York at Brockport; she currently holds the position of Peer Review
Coordinator at Catholic Health System; and
WHEREAS, Kelly Anderson has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and for the last
15 years, she has given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, after Kelly Anderson and her husband tragically lost
their son, Michael, she began working with the WNY Perinatal Bereavement
Organization (WNYPBN), helping families deal with the loss of children
through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillborn or early infant death;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Kelly Anderson has been instrumental
in organizing several events such as the Annual Walk to Remember and the
Elegant Evening to Remember, helping to raise funds and awareness for
WNYPBN programs; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her work with WNYPBN, Kelly Anderson has
assisted with RTG for a Cure since 2011; this vital organization raises
funds each year to help support pediatric cancer initiatives; in 2012,
she shaved her head to help support Carly's Club; and
WHEREAS, A truly compassionate woman, Kelly Anderson graciously volun-
teers her services to the Cuddler Program at Sisters of Charity Hospi-
tal, at Vive, the City Mission, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Friends of
the Night, and the Butterfly Moon Organization which helps raise funds
to support local hospitals in their perinatal bereavement programs; and
WHEREAS, A faithful member of St. Ambrose Parish, Kelly Anderson
serves as a pre-baptismal coordinator; she and her family have also
hosted an exchange student from the Ukraine through the FLEX program;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Kelly Anderson has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Michael, and her
daughter Mia, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and
rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Kelly Anderson has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the

recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kelly Anderson upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Community Service Award by the WNY Perinatal Bereavement Organ-
ization on May 6, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kelly Anderson.
