LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lisa Addeo upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Parent of the Year Award by the
Bensonhurst West End Community Council

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, It is also the practice of this Legislative Body to take note
of and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this
great State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lisa
Addeo upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2015
Parent of the Year Award by the Bensonhurst West End Community Council
to be celebrated at its 54th Anniversary Gala, at El Caribe, Brooklyn,
New York on Thursday, March 5, 2015; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is presented in loving memory of past
PTA President Cesaria Soccoa; and
WHEREAS, For over 27 years, Lisa Addeo has been involved in the PTA;
she began her period of service when her first child was at PS 177; she
then relocated to her son's elementary school at PS 97, volunteering and
organizing numerous fundraisers including the Annual Spring Gala, the
largest campaign of the year; and
WHEREAS, In September 2014, both Lisa Addeo and her son moved on to IS
281 Joseph B. Cavallaro; well-loved and respected by all, she made it a
point to get to know each and every teacher in the schools; and
WHEREAS, Passionate about everything she does, Lisa Addeo enjoys
dressing up in crazy Halloween costumes, and can be seen wearing blue
from head to toe in support of her school teams; currently, she is
running a large fundraiser at her child's school, along with helping
another school district with their own money making strategies; and
WHEREAS, Of strong moral fortitude and beliefs, Lisa Addeo has a posi-
tive and cheerful disposition, traits that are to be admired; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable parent has brought great credit upon herself
by continually demonstrating an impressive dedication, an unparalleled
devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm on behalf of the public school
educational community in Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Lisa Addeo has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the respect
and admiration of the Administration, teachers, and staff of the schools
she has been a part of for many years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lisa Addeo upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2015 Parent of the Year Award by the Bensonhurst West End Community
Council; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lisa Addeo.
