LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Felicia and Jonathan Geiger upon the
occasion of their designation for special recognition by Congregation
Mount Sinai on June 8, 2016
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Felicia and Jonathan Geiger have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Felicia and
Jonathan Geiger upon the occasion of their designation for special
recognition by Congregation Mount Sinai, to be celebrated at its Roaring
'20s Spring Gala on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, in Brooklyn Heights, New
York; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed couple has been called upon to contribute their
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and have
always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Felicia and Jonathan Geiger have been dedicated members of
Congregation Mount Sinai for eight years; during this time, they have
been vital members of the community, supporting the synagogue through
volunteer efforts and supporting programming; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, she is a former member of the board of trustees
and devoted herself to the Hebrew school and religious education
programming; and
WHEREAS, Professionally, Felicia Geiger has served as a voice for
inclusivity and acceptance in the advertising industry for more than 20
years, cultivating diverse talent for tomorrow and improving the commu-
nity-at-large today; and
WHEREAS, Felicia Geiger is a co-founder and Executive Director of the
Madison's Collective, an organization which supports underrepresented
professionals in advertising and media; she also proudly sits on the
American Advertising Federation (AAF) Mosaic Council Executive Commit-
tee, the ADCOLOR Board of Directors, the Live Out Loud Board of Direc-
tors, and is co-chair of the American Association of Advertising Agen-
cies (4A) Diversity Steering Committee; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of her passion and commitment to diversity and
inclusion initiatives, Felicia Geiger was honored with the prestigious
ADCOLOR Change Agent Award, the AAF Diversity Mosaic Educator Award and
The TORCH L.I.G.H.T. Award; additionally, she was named the inaugural
recipient of the 4As' MAIP Pantheon Award, which is given to a transfor-
mational leader who is highly regarded as a cultivator, supporter and
champion of multicultural talent; and
WHEREAS, A respected and talented financial advisor at Charles Schwab,
Jonathan Geiger has shared his expertise and opinions on various media
outlets, and has been quoted in such publications as THE NEW YORK TIMES,
NEW YORK POST, and the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS; and
WHEREAS, Jonathan Geiger is a 1990 graduate of Frostburg State Univer-
sity with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Concen-
tration in Finance; he volunteers as a Soccer Coach with the 68th
Precinct Youth Council; and
WHEREAS, Felicia and Jonathan Geiger and their two children, Max and
Alexandra, have called Brooklyn their home for the past 19 years; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Felicia and Jonathan Geiger have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Felicia and Jonathan Geiger have
displayed throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Felicia and Jonathan Geiger upon the occasion of their designation
for special recognition by Congregation Mount Sinai on June 8, 2016; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Felicia and Jonathan Geiger.
