LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison upon
the occasion of celebrating their 69th Wedding Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate and
recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great Nation
and Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison upon the occasion of celebrating their
69th Wedding Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Wesley and Shirley Mattison were married at a small church in
Alma, New York, on June 21, 1947, and they have lived their entire lives
in Allegany County; Wesley is a World War II veteran and he married
Shirley when he returned home from the war; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison are some of the hardest working
people you would ever encounter; Wesley worked in the oil fields, the
Line Material Company in Olean, the Railroad, and Air Preheater Company;
Shirley was an outstanding homemaker for her family who never had the
advantages of modern conveniences, but she never complained; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison are the loving parents of seven
children, Kathy, William, Rebecca, Steven, Beverly, Mark and Sherri;
they have been further blessed with 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grand-
children and five great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison set a perfect example for their
children who have all been very successful in careers such as education,
factory work, law enforcement, healthcare and the military; and
WHEREAS, This beloved couple has experienced the incredible joys char-
acteristic of those with the dedication and devotion to savor a full
life together; their marriage has inspired the lives of many friends and
family members; and
WHEREAS, What Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison are celebrating is truly
unique and special; as they celebrate their 69th Wedding Anniversary, it
is the intent of this Legislative Body to wish them many more years of
happiness and good health; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and honor the lives of beloved citizens who have reached a remark-
able milestone and who have witnessed and celebrated the innovations,
cultural developments, and achievements of this country during the last
century; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison upon the occasion of celebrat-
ing their 69th Wedding Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Mattison.
