LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Patricia Strong upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition as recipient of the Champion Award
by Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flatbush on June 14, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Strong has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Patricia
Strong upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition as
recipient of the Champion Award by Neighborhood Housing Services of East
Flatbush; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at its 34th Annual
Corporate Meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Brooklyn College Student
Center in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1982, Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flat-
bush (NHSEF) is a not-for-profit community-based organization working to
increase and protect investment in underserved neighborhoods, to help
community members improve themselves through education, to encourage and
support neighborhood self reliance, and to create, preserve, and promote
affordable housing in specific Brooklyn neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Strong, Vice President of Dime Savings Bank, has
been called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless civic
and charitable endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly;
and
WHEREAS, Today, through Patricia Strong's efforts, NHSEF is able to
move forward with its renovation plans; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Patricia Strong has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Patricia Strong has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that individuals who
exemplify a spirit of humanity should be celebrated for their noble
efforts on behalf of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patricia Strong upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition as recipient of the Champion Award by Neighborhood Housing
Services of East Flatbush on June 14; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patricia Strong.
