LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending outgoing President Karen Wiley upon
the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the Williston
Park Rotary Club on June 23, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
outgoing President Karen Wiley for her distinguished service to the
Williston Park Rotary Club, to be celebrated at its Annual Awards Dinner
on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at La Parma Restaurant, Williston Park, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Karen Wiley faithfully served the
Williston Park Rotary Club of Williston Park, New York, leading the Club
in living up to its mission, Service Above Self; and
WHEREAS, As President, Karen Wiley strived to promote strong fellow-
ship among Rotarians and conduct meaningful service projects which
greatly benefitted the Williston community and its many worthy organiza-
tions including the Alford Family Thanksgiving Program, American Cancer
Society, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Camps Anchor, Northstar, Paquatuck,
and Sunshine, the Church of St. Aidan, Collette Coyne Melanoma Awareness
Committee, Community Church of East Williston, East Williston Fire
Department, East Williston Little League, East Williston Public Library,
Gift of Life, the Village of East Williston and Williston Park, Inter-
faith Nutrition Network, Long Island Blood Services, Long Island Cares,
Long Island Council of Churches, Long Island Harvest, Providence House,
Ronald McDonald House, Rotacare, Rotoplast, Sunwise Sun Safety, Wheel-
chair Foundation, Williston Park Fire Department, Williston Park Little
League, Williston Park Pool, Williston Park Public Library, Unite
Against Cancer, and Winthrop University Hospital Cancer Center for Kids;
and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to outgoing President Karen Wiley; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend outgoing President Karen Wiley for her distinguished service to
the Williston Park Rotary Club; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to outgoing President Karen Wiley.
