LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Julia C. Grieco, distin-
guished citizen and devoted member of her community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Julia C. Grieco of Newburgh, New York died on Thursday, Janu-
ary 29, 2015, at the age of 76; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 28, 1939, Julia C. Grieco graduated from
Newburgh Free Academy in 1957, and was crowned Miss Newburgh two years
later; she married Dominick Grieco on October 29, 1961; and
WHEREAS, Julia C. Grieco distinguished herself in her profession and
by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
her community; and
WHEREAS, A retired food service employee for the Newburgh Enlarged
City School District, Julia C. Grieco was a parishioner of St. Francis
of Assisi Church; and
WHEREAS, Julia C. Grieco's commitment to excellence, and her spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including charita-
ble and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Julia C. Grieco was
the center of a close, loving family; a truly selfless woman, she would
go without to give to others; and her grandchildren were her pride and
joy; and
WHEREAS, Predeceased by her parents, Roger and Madeline, and her
husband, Dominick, Julia C. Grieco is survived by her children, Lori
(Kevin), Dawn, and Michael (Susan); grandchildren, Lindsay (Daniel),
Haley and Mikayla; sisters, Mary (Anthony), Toniann (Terry); sisters-in-
law, Marianne (Thomas) and Rosanne (Thomas); as well as many nieces and
nephews; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, Julia C. Grieco leaves
behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will
remain as a comforting memory to all she served and befriended; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Julia C. Grieco, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Julia C. Grieco.
