LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Kenmore Village Improvement Socie-
ty upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Northtown Subaru Dog Days of
Kenmore Event on June 12, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals and organizations who would faithfully
dedicate themselves to the care and protection of animals; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Kenmore Village Improvement Society upon the occasion of hosting its
Annual Northtown Subaru Dog Days of Kenmore Event, celebrated on Sunday,
June 12, 2016, at Mang Park, Kenmore, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Kenmore Village Improvement Society has organized the
Northtown Subaru Dog Days of Kenmore for many years; with thousands of
dogs living throughout Western New York, this event strives to celebrate
and acknowledge the abiding relationship humans have with their beloved
dogs; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious event was free to the public and brings
together canines and their owners for a celebration, which includes
vendors, dog sports, rescue groups, education and training; and
WHEREAS, The Kenmore Village Improvement Society gave away six prizes
to local rescue organizations involved at the event, and a Blessing of
the Animals also took place; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the day, Dog Days of Kenmore held several contests
in which dogs compete including, best trick, best dog/human look-alike
and best costume; demonstrations also featured local K9 officer and
agility exhibitions; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, food trucks including Amy's Truck, Lloyd Taco
Truck, Sweet Hearth and the new Hawaiian BBQ Truck, were available for
refreshments; Skiffle Minstrels Band, a western swing dance band,
provided live music; other event activities included a basket raffle,
dog parade and the crowning of the Dog Days of Kenmore king and queen;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Kenmore Village Improvement Society upon the occasion of
hosting its Annual Northtown Subaru Dog Days of Kenmore Event on June
12, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Kenmore Village Improvement Society.
