LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Donna Frazier, Class of 1993, upon
the occasion of her induction into the 2014 SUNY Orange Colt Athletic
Hall of Fame
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals whose exceptional athletic prowess leaves an enduring legacy in
their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Donna Frazier, Class of 1993, upon the occasion of her induction
into the into the 2014 SUNY Orange Colt Athletic Hall of Fame, which was
celebrated at a ceremony on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Kuhl's
Highland House, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, The SUNY Orange Colt Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes those
individuals, who through outstanding achievement in athletics or
service, have made lasting contributions to its sports program and the
overall community; and
WHEREAS, Donna Frazier, a member of the Class of 1993, played basket-
ball and softball at SUNY Orange in the late 1970s, and later received
her degree in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Donna Frazier was the point guard and playmaker during the
1977-1978 and 1978-1979 seasons, where she proved to be an outstanding
asset to the team, twice leading in assists; and
WHEREAS, While at SUNY Orange, Donna Frazier was named to the Region
XV All-Tournament Basketball Team, while in baseball, she anchored the
infield as a third baseman, helping them craft winning seasons during
both of her years playing; and
WHEREAS, Since 2004, Donna Frazier has served as an adjunct faculty
member in the SUNY Orange Occupational Therapy Assistant Department;
currently, she is the Corporate Rehabilitation Director at Elant, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, Donna Frazier has helped forge a partnership between Elant
and SUNY Orange to create clinical training opportunities for students
in both the College's Occupational Therapy Assistant and the Physical
Therapist Assistant Programs; and
WHEREAS, A car-fit certified trainer, Donna Frazier is actively
involved in regional and statewide Occupational Therapy associations and
serves on the Advisory Boards of the SUNY Orange OTA program; further-
more, she serves on the Board of Hudson Valley Senior Source, a local
chapter of National Aging in Place; and
WHEREAS, Athletes such as Donna Frazier provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of
student-athletes in their athletic journeys and ensuring their success
in their future years; and
WHEREAS, Donna Frazier has clearly been an inspiration to the youth of
SUNY Orange, as well as to the community-at-large, and accordingly
merits recognition and applause for her impressive dedication to others;
and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Donna Frazier has clearly made a contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of her school; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Donna Frazier, Class of 1993, upon the occasion of her
induction into the 2014 SUNY Orange Colt Athletic Hall of Fame; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Donna Frazier.
