LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating veteran Westbury Runner Susan
Schmuck and her son Johnny upon the occasion of winning the Greater Long
Island Running Club's Championship Award
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success in athletic competition, have inspired and
brought pride to their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late veteran Westbury Runner Susan Schmuck and her son Johnny upon the
occasion of winning the Greater Long Island Running Club's Championship
Award, celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in the auditorium of
the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, Plainview, New York; and
WHEREAS, For the second year in a row, Susan Schmuck was the Greater
Long Island Running Club's Athena 145-159 pound Champion; and
WHEREAS, Johnny Schmuck took top honors in the Greater Long Island
Running Club's 14 and under age group; and
WHEREAS, Outstanding athletes, Susan and Johnny Schmuck are among the
finest runners on Long Island of any age; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Susan and Johnny Schmuck have clearly made a
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
community; and
WHEREAS, Susan and Johnny Schmuck's stellar achievements merit the
recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate veteran Westbury Runner Susan Schmuck and her son Johnny
upon the occasion of winning the Greater Long Island Running Club's
Championship Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Susan and Johnny Schmuck.
