LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Eileen Peralta upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Humanitarian Award by Bridge to Youth on
March 6, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Eileen Peralta upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Humanitarian Award by Bridge to Youth to be celebrated at its Annual
Dinner Dance on Friday, March 6, 2015; and
WHEREAS, A community based non-profit organization in its eleventh
year, Bridge to Youth serves the social and physical needs of develop-
mentally disabled children from all five boroughs of New York City; and
WHEREAS, Bridge to Youth allows children and their families to inter-
act with other peers and typically developing teenage volunteers in such
sponsored activities as, adaptive physical education, music therapy, art
therapy, literacy through cooking, and Zumba; these programs foster new
friendships, and improve the children's social skills; and
WHEREAS, A woman of singular distinction, Eileen Peralta has contin-
ually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and
diligent leadership in her unwavering service to her community and
profession and consequently has been selected for this most prestigious
honor; and
WHEREAS, A Brooklyn native, Eileen Peralta grew up in Bay Ridge and
attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Peralta has served as Vice President Branch Manager of
Northfield Bank for nearly four years; she began her illustrious career
more than two decades ago as a teller, and climbed the ladder of success
to her current esteemed position; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure as Branch Manager, Eileen Peralta has
met many of Northfield Bank's financial goals and her vital role as
mentor and leader has been instrumental in its success and growth; and
WHEREAS, Active within her community, Eileen Peralta is a member of
the Parent Teachers Association, Dyker Heights Civic Association,
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Dyker/Mapleton Kiwanis Association, and
New York State Women, Inc., Richmond Chapter; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she serves as Secretary/Treasurer of Business
Networking International (BNI), and is a Representative of Northfield
Bank for the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Eileen Peralta has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her three children, Samantha,
Stephanie and Anthony, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her
life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Eileen Peralta has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
career, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the
citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eileen Peralta upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Humanitarian Award by Bridge to Youth on March 6, 2015; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eileen Peralta.
