LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mike Temares upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2014 Savvy Senior Award by the Associ-
ation of Generational Experts for Seniors
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are an important part of, and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, The more than three million residents of New York State 60
years of age and older are vital, integral and giving members of our
society; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mike
Temares upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2014
Savvy Senior Award by the Association of Generational Experts for
Seniors; this auspicious event was celebrated on Sunday, September 7,
2014, at the Parker Jewish Institute in New Hyde Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Association of Generational Experts for Seniors (AGES) is
an independent network of highly qualified, caring and knowledgeable
professionals from family and senior related fields created for the
purpose of addressing the needs and challenges that face many families
today; and
WHEREAS, AGES is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for
seniors and caregivers by offering information and sensible choices that
promote health, well-being, financial stability and longevity; and
WHEREAS, AGES founder Alan Goldman established the Annual Savvy Senior
Award to praise those special seniors who have made a substantial impact
within their community; and
WHEREAS, For over a decade, Mike Temares has worked at AGES as a
Reverse Mortgage Specialist helping senior citizens with their financial
debt; he has helped over 2,000 people by obtaining funds for them by
taking out a reverse mortgage on their property, decreasing their unpaid
debt, and helping them to stay in their homes; and
WHEREAS, Throughout both Nassau and Suffolk Counties, Brooklyn, and
Queens, Mike Temares often holds face-to-face interviews to help home-
bound senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, Mike Temares, a very active and industrious Savvy Senior, has
inspired and enriched the lives of his family, friends, and community
through his love and respect for others, generously sharing the wisdom
gained over years of experiencing life to its fullest; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and commend those who have witnessed and contributed to the devel-
opments and achievements of our Nation, State, and communities over the
course of their noteworthy lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mike Temares upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2014 Savvy Senior Award by the Association of Generational Experts
for Seniors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mike Temares.
