LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Anthony S. Pennachio Sr. and Joseph
Pennachio Sr. of Floral Fantasy upon the occasion of their designation
as recipients of the Ultimate Fighter Award by Pietrosfight.org

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Anthony S. Pennachio Sr. and Joseph Pennachio Sr. of Floral Fantasy upon
the occasion of their designation as recipients of the Ultimate Fighter
Award by Pietrosfight.org, to be celebrated at its Fight Night! Round
III Pietro vs. DMD on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the El Caribe Country
Club, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Pietrosfight.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to
raising awareness and funds to help find a cure for Duchenne Muscular
Dystrophy (DMD), one of the most common and lethal childhood genetic
disorders in the world; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization was founded by Manni and Dayna Scarso
in 2012, after they learned their 3-year-old son, Pietro, was diagnosed
with DMD; Pietrosfight.org continues to promote funding for research
which will cure this deadly disease; and
WHEREAS, The loving sons of Joseph and Celeste, brothers Anthony S.
Pennachio Sr. and Joseph Pennachio Sr. are the co-owners of Floral
Fantasy in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn; they have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and
have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Anthony S. Pennachio Sr. is the owner of ASP Graphics, and
Scarpaci Funeral Home of Staten Island, as well as the manager of Scar-
paci Funeral Home in Dyker Heights; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Anthony S. Pennachio Sr. is a founding member of
the St. Bernard's Knights of Columbus No. 14269 and a member of the
Board of Directors of the Ben Bay Kiwanis Club; he also is an active
contributor to the Lions Club, the AMA, and the Bikers of Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 14 years, Dolores,
and their three sons, Anthony Jr., Vincent, and Darrien, all of whom
feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, Joseph "JoJo" Pennachio Sr., has worked tirelessly to build
Floral Fantasy into the successful enterprise it has become; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Staten Island, Joseph Pennachio Sr. volunteers
his time to coach his son's school basketball games, and sponsors and
participates in many charity golf tournaments for worthy causes; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of many years, Holly,
and their two sons, Joseph Jr. and Christopher, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Anthony S. Pennachio Sr. and Joseph
Pennachio Sr. have stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anthony S. Pennachio Sr. and Joseph Pennachio Sr. of Floral Fanta-

sy upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of the Ultimate
Fighter Award by Pietrosfight.org; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anthony S. Pennachio Sr. and Joseph Pennachio Sr.
