LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Lexington Cooperative Market of
Buffalo, New York, upon the occasion of the Grand Opening of its second
location in North Buffalo
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the mile-
stones of those small businesses which substantially contribute to the
economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Lexington Cooperative Market of Buffalo, New York and to celebrate the
Grand Opening of its second location on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo
in the Spring of 2016; and
WHEREAS, Since 1971, Lexington Cooperative Market has provided fresh,
natural foods and outstanding customer service to the Buffalo community;
and
WHEREAS, Comprised of 11,000 members/owners, this remarkable local
business serves 1,400 customers daily; and
WHEREAS, The new Lexington Cooperative Market location will revitalize
a 9,000 square foot vacant building, provide up to 70 new jobs, and
bring increased economic activity and greater shopping options to the
North Buffalo area; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Lexington Cooperative Market's new market will
feature additional food selections, indoor seating, and plentiful park-
ing; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses exert a strong positive influence on our
communities, and the future welfare of New York State depends on the
continued development of small businesses; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lexington Cooperative Market of Buffalo, New York, upon the
occasion of the Grand Opening of its second location in North Buffalo;
and
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lexington Cooperative Market.
