LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Lloyd Taco Truck of Buffalo, New
York, upon the occasion of winning the CNBC Restaurant Startup Competi-
tion

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
support the entrepreneurs of small businesses whose dedication and
accomplishments contribute to the economic health and vitality of the
communities they serve in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Lloyd Taco Truck of Buffalo, New York, upon the occasion of winning
the CNBC Restaurant Startup Competition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is also proud to commend Peter Cimino
and Chris Dorsaneo, two friends who founded Lloyd Taco Truck four years
ago, for their enduring entrepreneurial spirit which has spurred an
entire industry in the City of Buffalo; Lloyd Taco Truck was the first
food truck company to service the City of Buffalo; and
WHEREAS, Since then, this pioneering small business has become well-
known for its high-quality food, locally-sourced menu, and affordable
street-level prices; it now operates four food trucks in the Buffalo
area and employs 35 people; and
WHEREAS, Lloyd Taco Truck's success has helped create a flourishing
food truck industry in Buffalo, with the local festival known as "Food
Truck Tuesday" attracting up to 30 food truck vendors and 6,000 people
weekly in Larkin Square; and
WHEREAS, At the CNBC Restaurant Startup Competition, Lloyd Taco Truck
chefs competed against 20 fellow culinary entrepreneurs in a series of
challenges, from learning how to make fresh tortillas in 36 hours, to
running a restaurant on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood; and
WHEREAS, Lloyd Taco Truck was victorious in the overall competition,
capturing first place honors and an investment prize from two national-
ly-known restaurant investors; and
WHEREAS, With the funding, Lloyd Taco Truck plans to further contrib-
ute to the economic prosperity of the City of Buffalo by opening a
brick-and-mortar restaurant on Hertel Avenue, featuring classic menu
options as well as a full service bar; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling success it has enjoyed thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Lloyd Taco Truck of Buffalo, New York, upon the occasion of
winning the CNBC Restaurant Startup Competition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Peter Cimino and Chris Dorsaneo, Founders, Lloyd Taco Truck
of Buffalo, New York.
