LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Stacy L. Bauter upon the occasion of his
retirement from the New York State Police

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Stacy L.
Bauter upon the occasion of his retirement from the New York State
Police after more than 20 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Stacy Bauter is a graduate of General Brown Central School
and a resident of Dexter, New York; he began his career with the New
York State Police on April 11, 1994; and
WHEREAS, He has been a K-9 handler since 1999, beginning with his
first dog, Losco, named after Trooper James A. Losco, who died in the
line of duty; and
WHEREAS, Together with Losco, Stacy Bauter reported to New York City
immediately following the events of September 11, 2001, working there
for more than a month and then returning for several more two-week peri-
ods; and
WHEREAS, Stacy Bauter will be joined in his retirement by C.J., his
second K-9 dog, named after Trooper Craig J. Todeschini, who also died
in the line of duty; C.J. will become a Bauter family pet; and
WHEREAS, Stacy Bauter has also been a bomb technician since 2000,
graduating from the FBI's Hazardous Devices School; he is also a member
of the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team,
and in 2014, he responded to more than 60 reported methamphetamine labs
statewide; and
WHEREAS, An individual who has truly gone above and beyond to excel in
his career and give back to his community, Stacy Bauter has made a
difference with his dedication to public service; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Stacy L. Bauter upon the occasion of his retirement from the New
York State Police; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Stacy L. Bauter.
