LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Cynthia Johnson upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT honoring Professional Women and Women in Business
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Cynthia Johnson has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Cynthia
Johnson upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional Women and Women
in Business; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Fallsburg Central High School, Cynthia Johnson
holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky; she also
earned a New York State Real Estate License and is a certified Broker in
the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Cynthia Johnson is the Owner/President and New York State
Real Estate Broker of Catskill Brokers, Inc., Woodbourne, New York,
which was founded by her father, Ralph Holmes, in 1969; she joined the
company in 1987; and
WHEREAS, For 26 years, Cynthia Johnson has enjoyed working with inter-
esting and exceptional clients; due to the size of the business, she is
able to specialize in one-on-one interactions with her buyers and sell-
ers allowing for a more personal and professional approach to the real
estate business; and
WHEREAS, One of the most satisfying aspects of Cynthia Johnson's job
is seeing each deal reach fruition and both buyers and sellers truly
happy with their decision and final outcome; and
WHEREAS, Cynthia Johnson relishes being part of a family-owned busi-
ness and was fortunate to work with her late mother, Ruth Holmes, for 20
years; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Cynthia Johnson is Coordinator of
the St. Andrew's Food Pantry, South Fallsburg, Treasurer of St. Andrew's
Episcopal Church, South Fallsburg, and member of the Sullivan County
Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Charles, and their
son James, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and
rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Cynthia Johnson upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Cynthia Johnson.
