LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Christina Kurpil Jones upon the occa-
sion of her designation for special recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional Women and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Christina Kurpil Jones has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Christina
Kurpil Jones upon the occasion of her designation for special recogni-
tion by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional Women
and Women in Business; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Liberty High School in Liberty, New York,
Christina Kurpil Jones received degrees in Dietetics and
Secretarial/InfoTech from Morrisville and Sullivan County Community
College; and
WHEREAS, For the past two years, Christina Kurpil Jones has been
employed by her sister, Jennifer; she is the full-time caregiver to her
two-year-old nephew; and
WHEREAS, With the official title of "Aunt Crissy," Christina Kurpil
Jones's most rewarding part of her job is spending unconditional time
with her nephew caring for him since he was an infant; and
WHEREAS, Aside from her professional career, Christina Kurpil Jones
enjoys practicing and playing the fiddle, piano, and guitar, as well as
writing and singing her own songs; in addition, she performs fiddle in
public with her family's band "The Kurpil Fiddlers"; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Christina Kurpil Jones taught Sunday
School for 15 years, and helped with Children's Church; she also worked
at St. Peter's Regional Catholic School in Liberty for four years in
their latchkey program; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Christina Kurpil Jones has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Donny, and her
parents, Sam and Frances Kurpil, as well as five siblings, Sam, Jr.,
Michael, Julie, Cindy, and Jennifer, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Christina Kurpil Jones has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Christina Kurpil Jones upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring
Professional Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Christina Kurpil Jones.
