LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Amy LeRoy upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
honoring Professional Women and Women in Business
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Amy LeRoy has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Amy LeRoy
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the 2014
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional Women and Women in Busi-
ness; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of DeLand High School in DeLand, Florida, Amy
LeRoy attended the University of Miami and Stetson University; recently,
she became a Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) certified inter-
viewer and trainer; and
WHEREAS, For the past seven years as of March 2015, Amy LeRoy has been
an employee of New Hope Community, Inc., currently serving as Director
of Community Supports and Services; she supervises the Medicaid Service
Coordinators, oversees four grants, acts as the New Hope Guardianship
Coordinator, and has been working on introducing more individual
centered services and approaches to the agency; and
WHEREAS, Her previous positions at New Hope Community, Inc. included
Medicaid Service Coordinator, Coordinator of Medicaid Service Coordi-
nation, and Director of Medicaid Service Coordination; and
WHEREAS, Some of Amy LeRoy's most rewarding aspects of her job include
improving the lives of the people she supports in the way in which they
desire it to be, and helping families and individuals access the
services and supports available to them, as well as advocating for
school-aged children; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her professional career, Amy LeRoy is thankful for
all those she has encountered who have made a lasting impression; she
has learned far more from those she has supported than she has ever
taught them, and hopes she could only have the same degree of honesty,
trustworthiness, and perseverance of those she has helped and have
demonstrated in their own lives; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Amy LeRoy is involved in her church;
she and her husband work with the youth and she leads the choir; Amy and
her husband also volunteer their time for Soupy Tuesday where individ-
uals in need come for soup, a sandwich, and dessert; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Gordon, and their
three children, Mara, Case, and Clara Beth, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Amy LeRoy has displayed throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Amy LeRoy upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Amy LeRoy.
