LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mark Langton upon the occasion of his
selection as Deputy Marshal of the 22nd Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick's
Day Parade on March 22, 2015

WHEREAS, St. Patrick's Day is a time for people of all nationalities and
generations to assemble and celebrate the rich culture and heritage of
the Irish people throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, A St. Patrick's Day parade reflects and records the ongoing
history of the United States and Ireland, and provides opportunity for
people of all generations to assemble in ethnic pride and pageantry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mark
Langton upon the occasion of his selection as Deputy Marshal of the 22nd
Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade to be held on Sunday, March
22, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Mark Langton was born and raised in Nenagh, County Tipperary,
Ireland; he was an active member of the Hurling and Gaelic Football team
in County Munster, earning All-Ireland Medals for both underage and
intermediate levels; and
WHEREAS, For many years, Mark Langton coached Hurling and Gaelic Foot-
ball at various clubs and organizations throughout Ireland; he was
honored with many coaching badges from numerous associations such as
Club and County Newport, Eire Og Nenagh, and Claughan Limerick; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Mark Langton served as the County Tipperary U16
Manager; he also was an active participant of the North Tipperary Sinn
Fein Party; and
WHEREAS, For 17 years, Mark Langton was employed as a Shipping Agent
for Proctor & Gamble Worldwide; he also owned and operated Guest House
Birdhill, County Tipperary; and
WHEREAS, Mark Langton moved to New York, and currently holds the posi-
tion of Partner at Nelly Spillanes in Manhattan; in addition, he is a
proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Bay Ridge, New York;
and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, the former Teresa
Morgan, who feels privileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in
his achievements; and
WHEREAS, A fitting choice for Deputy Marshal of the 22nd Annual Bay
Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade, Mark Langton embodies the spirit and the
cherished ideals and values of Irish-Americans of this great State and
Nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mark Langton upon the occasion of his selection as Deputy Marshal
of the 22nd Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 22, 2015;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mark Langton.
