LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Tracy Magie upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
honoring Professional Women and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Tracy Magie has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Tracy Magie
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the 2014
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional Women and Women in Busi-
ness; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Fallsburg Central High School, Tracy Magie
attended SUNY Delhi; and
WHEREAS, For four years, Tracy Magie has been an employee of the
Sullivan County BOCES Central Business Office (CBO), and currently
serves as Principal Account Clerk overseeing accounts payable, purchas-
ing, payroll, and attendance in BOCES; in addition, she develops ways to
streamline procedures within each function and implement cross training
so each staff member can perform their function for any district they
support; and
WHEREAS, Tracy Magie also supports the CBO business manager with staff
attendance and reviews, as well as resolving the daily occurrences and
issues that districts may have or rely on the CBO to resolve; and
WHEREAS, Prior to her current position, Tracy Magie worked as Account
Clerk/Typist, and Accounts Payable Clerk; and
WHEREAS, The most rewarding aspect of Tracy Magie's job is the daily
diversity of working with 15 coworkers and eight school districts; she
appreciates the ability of learning something new every day and uses
this information to grow within her organization; and
WHEREAS, Tracy Magie's favorite on-the-job moment was when asked to
speak in front of representatives from every district in the county at
the BOCES Annual Meeting after the first year the CBO formed; it was her
job to explain the purpose, goals, and accomplishments of the CBO; she
is also proud of all she and her staff have accomplished regarding
implementation, streamlining of procedures, and cross training to give
each district the best possible service; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the CBO has doubled in size which speaks
volumes to the districts who see the value and service of Tracy Magie
and her knowledgeable staff; and
WHEREAS, When faced with a challenge, Tracy Magie models herself both
professionally and personally after her mother, Pat Bullock, a retired
Deputy County Clerk; and
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Tracy Magie is affiliated with the
State Association of Municipal Purchasing Officials; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Tracy Magie has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Edward, and their
two daughters, as well as three grandchildren, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Tracy Magie has displayed throughout
her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Tracy Magie upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2014 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tracy Magie.
