LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the untimely death of former U.S. Army
officer Taylor A. Force, distinguished citizen and devoted member of his
community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to the
people of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavors
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Lubbock, Texas native and former U.S. Army officer, Taylor A.
Force died on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at the age of 29, while in Tel
Aviv, Israel; and
WHEREAS, Taylor A. Force graduated from West Point Military Academy in
2009, and served as a field artillery officer in the United States Army
from 2009-2014; and
WHEREAS, Following his military service, Taylor A. Force went on to
enroll for a MBA graduate study at Owen Graduate School of Management in
Vanderbilt University; and
WHEREAS, Taylor A. Force was on a mission to support veterans, the
diversity of students, and the quality of education; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed individual was respected by his fellow military
officers, veterans, students, friends and family; and
WHEREAS, The banner of freedom will always wave over our beloved New
York and all of America, the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave;
and
WHEREAS, Residents of this great State must never forget the courage
with which these men and women served their country, and must recognize
that no greater debt is owed than that owed to those who gave their
lives for their beloved Nation and to those who continue to be missing
in action; and
WHEREAS, The freedoms and security we cherish as Americans come at a
very high price for those serving in the military in times of conflict;
it is fitting and proper that we who are the beneficiaries of those who
risk their lives, leaving their families behind, express our appreci-
ation and eternal gratitude for their sacrifices and courageous acts;
and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Taylor A. Force leaves behind an early legacy that will long
endure and will remain as a comforting memory to all he served and
befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Taylor A. Force, courageous former U.S. Army officer,
distinguished individual and devoted member of his community; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Taylor A. Force.
