LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Patricia Hoffman upon the occasion of
her retirement after 11 years of distinguished service as Executive
Director of the Oneida Community Mansion House

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 11 years, Patricia Hoffman rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service as Executive Director of the Oneida
Community Mansion House; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Hoffman, the daughter of Roger Hoffman and the late
Elizabeth Daley, graduated from Hamilton Central School in 1969; she
furthered her education by studying Communications at SUNY Cortland; and
WHEREAS, While visiting a friend in California, Patricia Hoffman
enjoyed her experience so much that she decided to stay; she lived in
California for the next 25 years, and earned her Bachelor's degree in
Communications and a Master's degree in Public Administration; and
WHEREAS, Following the completion of her studies, Patricia Hoffman
accepted a position as Foundation Coordinator at the Bowers Museum in
Santa Anna, California; in addition, she raised funds and engaged in
community relations for two area hospitals; and
WHEREAS, In 1995, Patricia Hoffman moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylva-
nia, where she ably served as Director of Development for the Woodmere
Art Museum; and
WHEREAS, After returning to Central New York to care for her ailing
mother, Patricia Hoffman was hired as Executive Director at the Oneida
Community Mansion House on February 16, 2005; and
WHEREAS, During her illustrious tenure, Executive Director Patricia
Hoffman served with loyalty, honor and distinction, and achieved many
notable accomplishments including the addition of new exhibit spaces and
the acquisition of a large amount of new material for the museum
collection; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed leader oversaw the expansion of
the museum store from a small room, where guests shopped through a view-
ing window, to a larger space located at the entrance of the Mansion
House; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Executive Director Patricia Hoffman was
governed by a deep appreciation of the Oneida Community's values and
work ethic, as well as a unique grasp of the Museum's distinguished
history; she has earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patricia Hoffman upon the occasion of her retirement after 11
years of distinguished service as Executive Director of the Oneida
Community Mansion House; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patricia Hoffman.
