LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the New York League of Conservation
Voters upon the occasion of hosting its Annual Spring Gala, and paying
tribute to this year's honorees on May 16, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the continuing
welfare of the citizens of the State of New York is greatly enriched and
reliably served by the purposeful endeavors of organizations which are
committed to the preservation of our natural environment and the
enhancement of the appreciation of the distinctive features of our
surroundings, and to the economic well-being of the areas in which they
exist; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the New York League of Conservation Voters upon the occasion of hosting
its Annual Spring Gala, and paying tribute to this year's honorees on
Monday, May 16, 2016, at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers, New York, New
York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion brings together an exciting group of
business leaders, elected officials and environmental partners to cele-
brate and support the work the New York League of Conservation Voters
(NYLCV) has accomplished throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the NYLCV will proudly recognize Stephen Ross of
Related Companies and The New Jewish Home for their steadfast and
unremitting commitment to promoting cleaner, greener communities; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of President, Marcia Bystryn,
NYLCV is the only statewide environmental organization in New York which
fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy and open space
through political action; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon all citizens to recognize and applaud
the efforts of organizations such as the New York League of Conservation
Voters which work tirelessly on behalf of protecting our natural
surroundings for the benefit of present and future generations of New
Yorkers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the New York League of Conservation Voters upon the occasion of
hosting its Annual Spring Gala, and paying tribute to this year's hono-
rees on May 16, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marcia Bystryn, President, the New York League of Conserva-
tion Voters.
