LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Salesian High School Boys
Varsity Basketball Team, Coach John Miressi and Coach Mike Lippoth upon
the occasion of capturing the New York State Catholic High School
Athletic Association (CHSAA) Class B Championship

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit, nurtured by
dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and
WHEREAS, The Salesian High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team follows
in a long tradition of excellence in Eagles Boys Basketball, a history
of outstanding players, coaches and teamwork that the 2015-16 team lived
up to in every respect; and
WHEREAS, The Salesian Eagles captured their CHSAA Class B New York
State Title by defeating Nichols 71-54 at Villa Maria College in Buffalo
on March 13, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Prior to their New York State Championship, the Eagles
clinched the New York City Catholic High School Athletic Association
Championship with a thrilling 67-43 win over Sacred Heart of Yonkers on
March 4, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great part
to the efforts of Coach John Miressi and Coach Mike Lippoth, skilled and
inspirational leaders, respected for their ability to develop potential
into excellence; and
WHEREAS, The team was enthusiastically supported by loyal family,
fans, friends and the community at large throughout the Eagles basket-
ball season; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition instills the values of teamwork, sports-
manship, pride and accomplishment; Coach John Miressi, Coach Mike
Lippoth and Athletic Director Christopher Beal, and all of the outstand-
ing athletes have clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence that is a tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Selesian Boys Varsity Basketball Team; its members:
Anthony Mitchell, Alex Romans, Zavier Tellez, Jack Silverberg, Shaun
Walker, Marco Sinapi, Justin Anderson, Paul O'Grady, Dijar Taraku, Dama-
ni Jones, Jorge Perdomo, Carlos Ramirez, and Jon Nagy; Coach John Mires-
si, Coach Mike Lippoth and Athletic Director Christopher Beal on their
outstanding season and overall team record; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the members of the Salesian Boys Varsity Basketball Team,
Coach John Miressi, Coach Mike Lippoth, and Athletic Director Christo-
pher Beal.
